HPLD PANDEMIC POLICY
In response to the COVID-19 public health crisis and in an effort to help curb its spread, the Harvey Public Library District (“HPLD”) has implemented a Pandemic Policy to address how to safely continue to serve the public during this crisis. Due to localized conditions in the District’s jurisdictional boundaries, including without limitation, that current available data show a low percentage of fully vaccinated persons and increased confirmed cases in HPLD’s jurisdictional boundaries, and increasing concern over the spread of contagious variants of COVID-19 such as the delta variant, we have found it necessary to develop a strategy based upon the guidance of the CDC, State of IL, Cook County Dept of Public Health (“CCPH”) and local authorities.
I. Library Meeting Room Restrictions: All Meeting Rooms will have reduced occupancy limits. Small study room 2 people, Large study room 4 people, Computer lab 12 people, Flex Room 40 people. Room set up and usage must support social distancing requirements at all times. Rooms will be cleaned after each use.
II. Library Computer Usage: Computer time limit is 1 Hr., Express computers 15 Minutes per day, which may be renewed if there are no other patrons waiting for computer usage. Computers will be cleaned after each use.
III. Building Time Limits: Patrons will be asked to wrap up their study after 2 Hrs once the building's public seating has reached its capacity to allow others an opportunity to use the Library.
- Masks are required prior to entry and while inside the Library for all patrons and staff, regardless of vaccination status.
- All patrons and staff are required to follow social distancing requirements.
- All persons who are feeling unwell or sick are requested to stay at home and not come to the Library so as not to pose a risk to the health and safety of staff and other patrons and to help curb the spread of COVID-19 and its variants. Curbside pick-up/delivery services will remain available.
